Markle shows a royal touch with adoring crowds
MEGHAN Markle is the duchess of clutches – as she hugs a schoolgirl on her latest public appearance with fiance Prince Harry.
Feminist Meghan cuddled 10-yearold Sophia Richards during a visit to a science and technology centre on International Women’s Day.
Sophia earlier met Harry, 33, and told him she wanted to be an actress like former Suits star Meghan, 36.
So Harry led the delighted schoolgirl by the hand to meet his bride-to-be.
Sophia said later: “He said, ‘Be confident and you can achieve whatever you want to achieve’. Meghan said one Meghan and flags day she’ll see me being an actress.” Harry and Meghan were greeted by flag-waving crowds at Millennium Point in Birmingham.
Meghan put on a virtual reality headset at an event encouraging girls to take up science, technology, engineering and maths. She told students: “You’re using your brain in a really challenging way.”
She wore a €370 navy coat by US label J Crew, black trousers from US designer Alexander Wang and a cream polo-neck by British brand Allsaints. The couple, who will marry in May, also met sisters Irene Gould, 82, and June Dickinson, 78.
■ Meghan has been voted the best princess of all time, with Diana in second, Grace Kelly, Princess of Monaco, third, and William’s wife Kate fourth in a poll by fashion firm Kaleidoscope.
