KFC re-signs old supplier to end crisis

- BY RUKI SAYID

KFC has called in its old supplier to help end the meat shortages that closed hundreds of restaurants.

The fast-food giant has re-signed Bidvest Logistics to deliver fresh chicken to 350 sites in the north of England. A switch to DHL proved disastrous as it failed to get meat to 900 branches on February 14 with some still offering limited menus.

Bidvest’s Paul Whyte said: “KFC are a valued customer and we will provide them with a seamless return to our network.”

The new deal starts on March 26. DHL, which uses Quick Service Logistics software, retains twothirds of the service. KFC said its focus was “ensuring customers can enjoy our chicken without further disruption”.
