Gio spins a winning tale

THERE was a lot of love for Giorgio Chiellini after Juventus progressed at Wembley, a lot of sage nodding at his observations that the Italian team used ‘skill, history and experience to win.’

Chiellini and Juve won the tie because the fine margins favoured them. Simple as that. ON Jeremy Vine’s Radio Two show, a ‘Russia expert’ called Edward Lucas suggested it would not be impossible for the Russian state to attack the England team at the World Cup by administering a substance that would “slow them down” while playing matches.

I bet Radio Two has rarely got such a laugh in its 51-year history.
