SCOTT OUT TO SILENCE THE IBROX BOASTS

- BY MICHAEL GANNON

SCOTT BROWN has laughed off the big noises coming out of Rangers and he insists he’s out to silence Ibrox again.

The Celtic skipper heard the Light Blues were cheering after the Scottish Cup draw put the big two on a collision course next month and they have talked up their chances of ending a run of eight Old Firm games without a win.

But he insisted the Hoops will be the ones roaring all the way to four wins in a row at the home of their great rivals in Sunday’s Premiership high noon showdown.

Brown said: “Yeah, they’ve managed to talk quite a lot this week. DAVID BATES is ready to leave his mark on Moussa Dembele as he prepares for an Old Firm battle with the striker.

Dembele scored five goals in his first three derbies but has now failed to net in his last five games against Rangers.

Bates, below, who got on early in the last Old Firm game in December said: “Dembele is strong with good ability but you have to try and put your print on him and do what you’re good at week in week out. I’m capable of doing it as is any centre-half at the club.

“I felt confident I

“We’ll just do our usual job and turn up. In the last three games, we have been excellent at Ibrox.

“The pressure is all on them.”

Brown is an Old Firm veteran and the 33-year-old insisted he’s learned to keep the head in the heat of the battle.

He said: “I’ve been there before and got caught up in the occasion and got sent off.

“You learn from your mistakes and you make sure you push on.

“As captain, you need to be reliable and be there to do whatever the manager needs.

“On the pitch, everyone is a leader. I do the team-talk and then it’s every man for himself.” could go into the team and do a job before the last game against Celtic. “I was then called upon in the 17th minute, earlier than I thought it might happen. But luckily enough I did well. It was like any game. I was just looking to make a good first pass and make a good first tackle or header. That usually sets you up for a decent game.

“The gaffer hadn’t been long in the door and he helped bring some confidence into the team.”
