DEJAN LOVREN says Liverpool could never park the bus and play for a point like Manchester United do.

“I think he knows I have that soldier mentality.”

The 24-year-old Belgium international believes his industry is what makes him so important to Mourinho. “I think I give work-rate to the team and the manager knows he can rely on me,” he said. “I will always put the team first and that’s something I told him. I said ‘the team is the most important thing.’

“I have always wanted to win trophies but the desire to win is greater than ever since I came to this club. I always put that in front of my personal objectives and he knows that, and I think that’s the reason I’m playing all the time.”
