The unlucky Lilywhites can win this

-

JUST like in the Premier League, all the fun in Division One of the Allianz Football League is happening down at the bottom end.

And that makes for a big weekend with two four-pointers to look forward to.

I’ll be in Newbridge tomorrow to do commentary on Kildare versus Mayo and it has all the hallmarks of being a cracker.

Kildare have to be the unluckiest team in the entire league, having lost three games by a single point. Mayo, meanwhile, are in need of a spark.

Stephen Rochford won’t want Mayo relegated ahead of the Connacht Championship showdown with Galway, especially having already been beaten by Kevin Walsh’s side.

They need to build momentum, and fast but I have a sneaking feeling that Kildare will grab the opportunity for a vital home win.

The other stand-out game is Tyrone versus Donegal in Omagh, which follows the Mckenna Cup final meeting between the sides just a few weeks ago.

There’s a lot at stake here too with both stuck on two points and I think the two Ulster heavyweights won’t hold back.

My advice would be to see this one if you can, there should be skin, hair and sparks flying.

Tyrone’s main problem is that while they are settled up to the midfield positions, they have too many forwards of a similar stature who are small and tricky but there’s no balance in the attack.

Declan Bonner is making a decent start as Donegal manager but Tyrone should have enough to come through with an important win.
