Westmeath to Erne a close shootout victory

IF you bumped into Colin Kelly this week you’d quickly understand what tomorrow means to him. The same, I’m sure, goes for Rory Kavanagh.

Kelly (left) is the Westmeath manager, Kavanagh is his Fermanagh counterpart and their sides are meeting in what is a straight shootout to determine which county gains promotion to Division Two.

Westmeath see themselves as that but so do Fermanagh. It should result in a great game and I think home advantage will help Westmeath over the line.

Kelly and Kavanagh are in their first year in charge of their respective teams and it’s of huge importance to both that they win promotion.

They’re realistic enough to know that progress this year will come from their league performance – Westmeath to win, just about.
