Keep Faith in survival battle

WEXFORD and Offaly meet today (3pm) and you can effectively shut the trap door on the loser.

The relegation picture in Division Three has been shaping up as two from Wexford, Offaly and Sligo, the only one of the three with a victory to their name.

While neither OFFALY have threatened to win any of their games, Offaly have perhaps shown a greater level of improvement from game to game which suggests that they can edge this relegation four-pointer and give Stephen Wallace his first League victory.

Tonight at the Athletic Grounds, ARMAGH are set to take a significant step towards promotion by reeling off a fifth straight win against DERRY, who are by no means out of the relegation picture yet themselves and haven’t been helped by the absence of their Slaughtneil contingent.

Tomorrow, SLIGO have the opportunity to put daylight between themselves and the relegation zone when they host LONGFORD though Denis Connerton’s side have been too consistent to suggest they’ll run aground there.

If WESTMEATH are to get themselves back in the promotion picture then a home win against unbeaten FERMANAGH is a must. They should get it too.
