3 injured after coach smash on motorway
THREE people including a child are in hospital following a collision between a coach and a car on a motorway last night.
The collision occurred at around 8pm in the southbound lanes of the M18 between Clarecastle and Dromoland in Co Clare.
Initial reports suggested as many as 38 people might have been injured sparking a massive multi-agency response. One emergency worker said: “Thankfully it wasn’t as bad as first reported.”
Coach passengers were checked by paramedics but remained onboard until a replacement was brought to scene.
It is understood a car travelling towards Limerick suffered a blowout and the coach ploughed into the back of it. A second car is also believed to have been involved.
