Points plea over disabled parking use

MOTORISTS illegally parked in disabled spots should get bigger punishments, a Green Party candidate has said.

Wexford candidate Ann Walsh, who has a wheelchair user in her family, said there is nothing more frustrating.

She added: “I welcome the raising of the fixed charge for motorists parking in disabled spots without a valid permit.

“I would encourage the Transport Minister to also impose four penalty points on those found guilty.

“We need initiatives to help disabled drivers using private car parks, where this new sanction will have no impact.”
