Road trip is uncertain

-

NOEL MEADE admits he would be “very foolish” to take Road To Respect’s stamina on trust in Friday’s Cheltenham Gold Cup.

The sevenyear-old, who has progressed to win at the top level since his handicap chase victory at the Festival last March, is unraced beyond three miles

“He’s never run at the trip, so I would be very foolish to say he’ll stay,” said Meade

“However, there’s no reason why he wouldn’t and, bar Native River, the Gold Cup horses are all in the same boat regarding stamina. “I hope it will be dry in the second half of the week. If it came up heavy, that would be a worry.”
