ART OF POISE WITH BHOYS!
SCOTT BROWN insists Celtic silenced the noisy neighbours by proving actions are louder than words.
The inspirational Hoops skipper led his 10-men side to a famous Ibrox win – and then twisted the knife into his rivals who last week cheered news of a cup draw against the Parkhead club.
Brown led the post match celebrations and said: “They talked all week and we just sat down. We did our talking on the park. We always do our talking on the park.
“Whether we win or we lose, we always fight till the last minute. That’s happened a few times to us now. Whether there is 11 of us or 10, we have always got that belief.
“There’s been a few wins here but this one is definitely up there.”
Celtic were forced to twice come from behind and then fight out the final 34 minutes with 10 men following Jozo Simunovic was sent off.
Brown – who helped drag his side nine points clear at the top of the Premiership with a game in hand – insisted Celts had the character and the quality to make it four wins in a row at Ibrox.
He said: “We are definitely on a high. We always believe that we can come here and get the three points and we did that today.
“Even though we went down to 10 men and it was hard, we dug deep. We’ve played with 10 men before and won.
“We need to believe in ourselves. We have top quality players.
“That’s why the players are unbelievable. Tom’s goal, Odsonne’s goal and Moussa’s goal as well.
“But have we won the league now? No, no. There is still a long, long way to go.”
Meanwhile, Rangers defender David Bates is facing a race against time to be fit for the Scottish Cup semi-final against Celtic.
The stopper has fractured a bone in his foot and been put in plaster after being carried off early in his side’s 3-2 defeat to Celtic.
Bates is now likely to be sidelined for at least three weeks, leaving him in a sweat before the Hampden derby on April 15.
However, Rangers could be boosted by the return to fitness of another promising defender, Ross Mccrorie.
He is expected back in full training in another week after an ankle injury.
We’ll always believe we can go and get three points and we did that
