Boost for greyhound industry
PUNDITS are backing a revival for the greyhound industry in Ireland.

The Irish Greyhound Board launched a five-year plan which will see the national stadium at Shelbourne Park in Dublin completely renovated at a cost of €3million.
Chairman Phil Meaney
“The organisation is said: in a dramatically improved financial position. For the past seven years, managing a long-term debt of some €20million acted as a financial Racing is seeing a revival straitjacket on our industry.” There has also been criticism of animal welfare and regulation.
However, chief Gerard Dollard said: “From every kennel to every racing track, the greyhound comes first. And we will continue to clearly demonstrate our welfare commitment through actions, not just words.” Phil Meaney
