“All of that evidence will be gathered, we will get help from other law enforcemen­t authoritie­s in other jurisdicti­ons and we will ensure we use all the relevant internatio­nal instrument­s either here or in other jurisdicti­ons.

“As I said at the outset, A revolver the level of informatio­n is seized in weekend raid significan­t and relates to other jurisdicti­ons. We are sharing this with agencies such as the NCA, jointly with agencies in other jurisdicti­ons. “When we show there is a link there is assistance sought and invariably received from the relevant law enforcemen­t agency.”

Assistant Commission­er John O’driscoll revealed they have so far saved almost 50 lives in the feud, the latest only last weekend when a hit team tried to kill Patsy Hutch.

He said: “In many of those cases we have had to engage with many people whose lives were threatened.

“Thankfully, in many cases, listened to us and took our advice and they are alive through behaving in that matter and assisting us to prevent their death.

“We have seven people charged and before the courts in which they are alleged to have conspired to murder.”

The head of the force’s organised crime investigat­ions was flanked by Ireland’s most senior detective at the briefing in Dublin yesterday.

Also present was Ian Cruxton, deputy director of the UK’S National Crime Agency, which is working with gardai.

Gangsters Daniel and Christy Kinahan are believed to be in Dubai while Gerry “The Monk” Hutch is possibly in Turkey, the Benelux countries or the US.
