MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER OF ALAN RYAN BROTHER Accused, 35, denies gun attack
A MAN appeared in court yesterday charged with the murder of Vincent Ryan.
Paul O’beirne, 35, is accused of shooting Ryan – brother of Real IRA chief Alan – in Finglas, North Dublin, on February 29, 2016.
The victim, a 25-year-old father, was attacked while sitting in his car. His brother had been shot dead four years earlier.
O’beirne, of Colepark Drive, Ballyfermot, West Dublin, did not speak at the hearing before Judge Victor Blake at the city’s district court.
Det Sergeant Gavin Ross said when the accused was handed a copy of the charge he replied: “Nothing got to do with me.” The officer applied to remand O’beirne in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court on Friday.
Defending Padraig O’donovan consented to the application. Judge Blake adjourned while a book of evidence is prepared. Vincent Ryan
