A trolley good boost for our supermarkets
POSH shoppers are pumping millions more into Irish supermarkets, it has emerged.
Big spenders plundered an extra €96million in the past 12 weeks compared with last year.
Dunnes remains in pole position, accounting for 23% of shoppers’ grocery spending.
Tesco’s sales are up 7% to a 26.5% share, while, Supervalu sits in third position at 22%.
Kantar Worldpanel director David Berry, said: “Shoppers are choosing to buy slightly more expensive items and this is reflected in continued sales growth for brands.”
