STRATFORD SINKS IN THE MUD

-

YESTERDAY’S jumps meeting at Stratford was cancelled following two morning inspections due to heavy downpours.

“We have had 4mm of rain in the last hour and more was forecast. The track is now waterlogged,” said clerk of the course Nessie Lambert.

Racing took place at Plumpton where Duhallow Lad won an eventful Peter Earl Novices’ Handicap Chase.

He was left with the race at his mercy following a catalogue of dramas that resulted in just two of the six starters completing the course.

His rider Tom O’brien later landed a 43-1 double with Snippetydoodah.
