More pain for Carroll
OFFALY’S hopes of avoiding relegation from Division Three of the NFL have been dealt a blow with midfielder Eoin Carroll’s latest injury.
Carroll has endured knee problems for much of the past year and only had a limited involvement in last year’s Championship.
He later underwent knee reconstruction surgery and made his first appearance of 2018 off the bench in the defeat to Armagh earlier this month.
However, the same knee buckled at training last week.
It was feared he had suffered cruciate damage at first, but that has proven not to be the case.
He will undergo surgery today when the full extent of the problem will become clearer.
It is certain that he will miss the remaining League games against Sligo and Westmeath over the next two weekends.
