plaza hearing could face legal challenge

- BY JOHN PATRICK KIERANS

A COUNCILLOR has threatened legal action in a bid to postpone An Bord Pleanala’s hearing about pedestrianising College Green in Dublin.

Independent councillor Mannix Flynn requested the delay on the first day of the process at the Gresham Hotel yesterday morning, due to a set of documents that should have been made available but were not.

He said he wrote to An Bord Pleanala last Thursday to inform them they were required to make the full file available at the civic offices a week before the hearing.

Board inspector Brenda Gannon added they have “addressed those issues”. Speaking after the hearing, Cllr Flynn told the Irish Mirror: “I am entitled to see those documents.”

Ms Gannon said she was told it’s up to Dublin City Council to make the papers available in such forms.

After the issues were raised, Ms Gannon adjourned the meeting until 9.30am this morning.
