IRELAND’S Got Talent star Evelyn Williams will be paying tribute to her late husband in next week’s live show.

The 81-year-old singer said she has no nerves about performing live to the nation as she will be singing “from the heart”.

While the Dublin granny couldn’t reveal what she would perform on the night, she said she’ll be thinking of her dad and her husband Noel, who passed away seven years ago, as she takes to the stage.

Evelyn told the Irish Mirror: “I’d never be nervous. When you sing, you sing from the heart.

“And if you’re singing from the heart you haven’t time to be nervous. It’s a story you’re selling in a song – you sing the song and hope it comes to life.

“Anywhere I go I mention my daddy and my husband. When I sing, I sing for them. “

While she doesn’t have the jitters about performing, Evelyn confessed the idea of winning the show does scare her a little.

She said: “That makes me nervous alright.

“I just want to go out there and sing my heart out.

“Hopefully every note will be accurate.”

On the RTE show debut last month, Evelyn has been enjoying her new-found fame and said she’s been inundated with well wishes and event invitations.

And despite being busier than ever, the Tallaght gran is adamant she won’t be giving up her work as an extra on RTE soap Fair City.

When asked if she’s still working on the soap, Evelyn said: “Yes every second Tuesday. I’m 21 years doing it.”

She took a break from IGT rehearsals yesterday to attend the launch of the Peter Mark VIP Style Awards.

The talent show star is nominated in the Most Stylish Newcomer event at the glitzy awards bash, which will take place on April 27 at The Marker Hotel in Dublin.

Evelyn said she was flattered to be named and told of how she has worn all her own clothes on IGT.

She added: “The [IGT crew] came into my bedroom and I had all my clothes laid out from one of my wardrobes.

“They had their stuff for me, whatever they were going to put on me, and then they said [they’d use my own clothes].”

When asked if she would be buying a new outfit for the awards ceremony, Evelyn added: “I don’t know really.

“Sometimes if you buy something new it doesn’t look as nice as what you have.

“What I have on me now is 10 years old.”
