Karen Byrne and Jake on Sunday’s show DANCING With The Stars’ finalist Jake Carter has admitted he has a crush on his “stunning” dance partner Karen Byrne.

The pair have become very close on the show and have been delivering sizzling performances every week.

When asked if he has a secret crush on the brunette beauty, the 19-year-old singer said: “Who doesn’t?”

But the Liverudlian star insisted they are just “great friends” as 24-year-old Dubliner Karen is in a long-term relationship with her Polish professional partner Wojtek Potaszkin.

The couple own a dance school in Palmerstown, South Dublin, and Wojtek has been hands-on with Jake and Karen’s routines.

Speaking about his chemistry with Karen, Jake said: “We just get on so well, we’ve really clicked. We’ve been putting in 12-hour days together so it makes it so much easier that we get on. I’ve never laughed as much. I’ve made a friend for life there.”

Despite capturing the hearts of the nation, pin-up Jake admitted he’s still “single and ready to mingle”.

He is now the last man standing in the competition and is up against GAA star Anna Geary and comedian and actress Deirdre O’kane for the Glitter Ball trophy.

Not only does he have to learn three show-stopping dance routines for the grand final on Sunday night but he is also scheduled to support his brother Nathan Carter’s Dublin gigs. Jake will be

After getting through dance-off taking time out of his gruelling dance rehearsals to hit the stage of the 3Arena on Friday and Saturday night.

He explained: “I’m just going to leave it in Karen’s hands and see what she wants to do. We’ll be putting in mental hours in the studio.

“There will be a lot of tricks to learn but I’ll just have to do the best I can.

“I can do the Friday and Saturday shows for Nathan with my eyes closed at this stage. I’m looking forward to them two gigs and then Sunday night, I’m just going to have to enjoy it as it’s the last one.

“It’s sad that it’s coming to an end but I’m so happy to have made the finals.”

Last week pop star Niall Horan sent him a video message and he has also had support from The Saturdays’ Una Healy.

He said: “I’m overwhelmed by the amount of support and the music industry has got behind me too. It really brings a smile to my face.”
