Big test for Well tough nut Cedric

Motherwell Rangers Tomorrow, 12.30pm

v KEITH LASLEY knows Cedric Kipre faces another Old Firm test of nerve this weekend when Rangers come to Fir Park.

The Motherwell defender angered Gers fans with a challenge that ended Ryan Jack’s campaign during a 2-0 Premiership defeat at Ibrox back in December.

He’s sure to face flak in tomorrow’s return in Lanarkshire but assistant boss Lasley insists the youngster is too chilled to be fazed by anything.

The Well No.2 said: “Cedric is having a fantastic season.

“He has just been called up for the Ivory Coast which is richly deserved.

“Everybody tends to forget how young Cedric is as he is only 21. People judge him by his size and his physical presence but he has only played 40 firstteam games for

Motherwell.

“I get the chance to coach and work with him every day and I do have to remember his age at times. His decision-making is that of an older player.

“Cedric is an experienced head on young shoulders and still has a lot to learn. But the contribution he has made up until now has been fantastic.

“He is a great prospect and can only get better. We have never had to put an arm around Cedric for anything.

“The last Rangers game won’t even be mentioned in the run-up to this one.

“I had forgotten all about the incident with Ryan Jack and it is not something we or Cedric will discuss.

“This is another game and another chance for Cedric to be an absolute rock at the back.”
