Netanyahu Erdogan TURKEY’S president has branded Israel a “terrorist state” after its army killed at least 15 Palestinians at a protest on the Gaza border.

Israel defended the action amid international criticism, after Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas declared Saturday a national day of mourning.

Referring to Turkey after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan slammed the event as an “inhumane attack”, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his army “will not be lectured by those who have indiscriminately bombed civilian populations for years”.

But Erdogan has shot back: “We don’t have the shame of invading on us, Netanyahu.

“You are an invader and right now are present in those lands as an invader.

“At the same time, you are a terrorist. You are a terrorist state.

“You have no one that likes you in the world.”

Friday’s deaths came amid one of the largest Palestinian protests along the Israel-gaza border in years, ahead of the 70th

Hamas, the dominant Palestinian group in Gaza, said five of the dead after Israeli troops opened fire on rioters were members of its armed wing.

Israel has said eight of the 15 belonged to Hamas, designated a terrorist group by Israel and the West, and two others came from other militant factions.

Israel’s defence minister has rejected calls for an inquiry into the killings.
