JOS KEEP ON TRYING

- BY NATHAN HEMMINGHAM

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY boss Jos Luhukay is challenging his players to end the season on a high. The Dutchman has struggled for wins since replacing Carlos Carvalhal. But Friday’s 4-1 victory over Preston, which followed a 2-1 success at Leeds, looks to have secured their Championship status.

They head into today’s game at Sunderland 10 points clear of the drop, but Luhukay (left) wants more. He said: “We must now continue this good feeling we have after two victories. Every game is still important, especially at home in front of so many fans – we must show them we are giving everything.

“We take 3,000 fans to away games and we must give them a performance and some positive results.” Scunny have reported no new injuries following Friday’s draw at Oxford. Simon Church and Gary Miller remain out for Argyle.

SHREWSBURY

The Shrews will be without defender Toto Nsiala due to a fractured cheekbone. The U’s could make changes despite no problems.

SOUTHEND v GILLINGHAM

The Shrimpers are unlikely to make many changes despite a 4-0 hammering at Plymouth. Striker Tom Eaves is pushing for a Gills return.

PORTSMOUTH v v OXFORD WIGAN

Pompey will see if Gareth Evans (hamstring) can play two games in three days. Will Grigg (calf) is a big doubt for the Latics.
