‘WE’LL GIVE BHOYS DEE BIG SHOCK’

- BY IAN BAKER

DUNDEE boss Neil Mccann has backed his side to stall Celtic’s title bid on Wednesday after seeing them earn a point against Hearts.

The Dee battled to a 1-1 draw courtesy of Sofien Moussa’s goal after Craig Levein’s team had taken the lead inside two minutes through Ross Callachan.

Celtic are just three wins away from the retaining the Scottish Premiership but ahead of the clash at Celtic Park, Mccann (above) said: “Today was a really good performance and it is something to build on.

“It is going to take a hell of a performance to take something from Celtic on Wednesday, but it is one we are capable of.

“There is always a sense of disappointment and frustration when you create so many chances and have to settle for a point.

“But you could see the fruits of our labour since the international break.”

Hearts are now all but guaranteed a top-six spot and Levein said: “We showed, as we have done most of the season, we have some good moments but not enough to get consistency.”

Celtic won 3-0 against Ross County on Saturday but boss Brendan Rodgers was not happy with a red card challenge by Andrew Davies on Scott Brown.

He said: “There was no intent to play the ball. I think there is one or two who want to make a name for themselves by trying to put in those sort of tackles.”

Celtic had midfielder Stuart Armstrong starting a game for the first time since December following a hernia operation.

He said: “It was nice to be back, starting and playing 90 minutes. I’m just trying to get fitness back and get more minutes.”
