DOLORES INQUEST DELAYED Medical test results stall hearing

- BY EMMELINE SAUNDERS

O’riordan was presented with a book of condolences signed by 16,000 fans and said the outpouring of support has helped enormously.

But, she said, her “little girl’s” death has been “very hard to absorb”.

She told the Times: “I read some of the letters, and everyone says how she helped them through the dark moments in their lives.

“I really feel she’s happy now. I go to her grave, but I don’t find anything there. I feel her spirit is around all the time. She was that type of person anyway, she would come into the room, even as a child, and she would grab the attention.

“I don’t miss the rock star, I miss my little girl. I always feel that she is around. I talk to her as if she’s on the phone. I

her the night she died.

“It’s very hard to absorb it, you know. It’s difficult when I think about my little girl and what she did in her life.”

The surviving Cranberries are planning to release their final album with Dolores’ vocals, which were recorded just before her death.

It will feature with a 25th anniversary reissue of their first album Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We? DOLORES O’riordan’s inquest reopened yesterday – and was immediately adjourned.

The body of the Limerick-born star was found in a London hotel room on January 15 and the initial hearing started five days after.

But was adjourned until yesterday so the Coroner could await the results of medical tests on the 46-year-old.

However, an announcement from the coroner’s court revealed date is yet to be set.

No reason has been given for the change.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed her death was not being treated as suspicious.

In a statement at the time, Coroner’s officer Stephen Earl said: “This lady was staying at a hotel in central London when on Monday 15 January she was found unresponsive in her room.

“The London Ambulance Service was contacted and verified her death at the scene.

“The Met attended and they determined the death to be non-suspicious.

A postmortem has now been carried out and the court is awaiting results of various tests.”
