Lancaster master of strategies

out of contention for Saturday’s PRO14 clash with Zebre at the RDS.

Larmour, meanwhile, is on course to resume training next week and could come into contention for the Aviva semi-final.

Sean O’brien could also be in line to make his return THE SUMO strategy is one Leinster have employed to stay in the hunt on two fronts this year.

Stuart Lancaster came up with the motto that compels the players to ‘Shut Up and Move On’ meaning they won’t be dwelling on their Champions Cup quarterfinal victory over holder Saracens last weekend.

“That’s Stuart’s,” revealed hooker James Tracy. “He loves that one.

“So we’ve already had the review of the Saracens game, what was good and what was bad, and break into different units. Then we do our weights session and we’re now focused.”

The province face Italian opposition twice on successive Saturdays at the RDS before their Aviva clash with the Scarlets in the Champions Cup semis.

It will provide a chance for those on the fringes of the first team to try to push themselves into selection contention.

Tracy, 27, is one of a group of hungry Leinster players who weren’t around for the three Heineken Cup triumphs and one Challenge Cup success that the province enjoyed.

What the Kildare man wants more than anything is one of those coveted stars on his blue jersey next season.

“It’s another thing Stuart emphasised,” said Tracy. Lancaster did some work in the States with NFL teams last summer and on his return reminded the Leinster players that the Superbowl winners get a ring to mark their achievement.

“Our equivalent of that is our star,” remarked Tracy. “And Stuart said, ‘It’s the only tangible thing nobody can take away from you.

“That’s something we’re striving toward - something that I can have that I can say, ‘I was proud of that’.”
