Dermot Bannon TV architect Dermot Bannon will do a Room To Improve-style makeover on his new home – which he plans to double in size.

His house in Drumcondra, North Dublin, is still on the market but he has already found his “dream home” in the same area.

DNG’S Brian Dempsey, who is looking after the sale, revealed Dermot is planning to renovate.

He said: “His dream now is to take on something you see every Sunday night – what he does on Room to Improve he’s now about to embark on for himself.

“He has bought nearby and he’ll stay in the neighbourhood. He’ll probably double that in size.

“It has a lovely big south-west-facing garden. From an architectural point of view there’s no doubt South-west is the best.

“He’s got really everything he wants and his dream home is there now.”

Dermot’s three-bed terraced home is on sale for €649,000 but Brian confirmed a family have placed an offer of €680,000 on the 1920s home.

Speaking on KCLR 96Fm, Brian said: “I’d put 99% of the interest down to [the fact it’s Dermot ’s house] and the rest is normal traffic. There was unprecedented demand for it online.” LYNDA Carter strikes the pose that made her a heroine for girls in the 1970s as Wonder Woman.

The actress, 66, was given a Hollywood Walk of Fame star to match the one on her crown after a 50-year career.

Director Patty Jenkins, behind the 2017 Wonder Woman film, said: “She made me believe I could have whatever I wanted.” BERTIE Ahern’s friend and former Cabinet colleague Willie O’dea said he can’t back the former Taoiseach for President.

It’s a blow to Mr Ahern who indicated he could throw his hat into the ring if Michael D Higgins decides against another seven-year term.

Mr O’dea – a former Fianna Fail Defence Minister – told the Irish Mirror he could not support his old boss even on a personal level.

He said: “If he were standing he would be standing as an Independent. I’m a member of Fianna Fail and I couldn’t support an Independent. If Fianna Fail have a candidate that’s the candidate I’ll be supporting.

“My personal view is Michael D has done a good job, I can’t anticipate whether there’s going to be a competition but he has done the job well and he’s represented the country well.

“I won’t lose any sleep if Michael D decided to run again or if he is

Willie O’dea and Bertie Ahern returned unopposed.” A source close to Mr Ahern told the Irish Mirror on Wednesday that the former Fianna Fail leader was in “great form” and is “missing politics” terribly.

And in an interview with the Irish Independent this week, Mr Ahern said if Mr Higgins decided to call it a day he would have to think again about his own ambitions.

He said: “If he turned around and said he wasn’t running, that would be a different thing, I’d have to see. You’d certainly have to think about it.”

Mr Ahern accepted he will never receive the backing of the party he led if he wants to contest the election.

He said: “I wouldn’t be running for Fianna Fail – I’d run as an Independent. I’m not going to say we shouldn’t have an election because I’m a democrat.

“But if there’s an election, we know the result. It’s just a matter of, well, Michael D will win.”
