Wayne rooney let his feet do the talking – scoring as Manchester United beat Celsea 1-0 in the Champions League.

The striker was in hot water for a foul-mouthed rant at the camera at a West Ham game.

But his quarter-final goal against Chelsea was the best answer to his critics and United went on to knock out the Blues. SAM ALLARDYCE has promised Everton will not freeze under the pressure of the Mersey derby.

The Blues boss offered a frank assessment of the woeful display at Goodison last weekend.

They were taken apart by freeflowin­g Manchester City, whose star performer Kevin De Bruyne said he could see confusion in the faces of the Everton players.

But Allardyce has vowed there will be no repeat as the Toffees look to prevent an unwanted derby record – although he admitted his men were overawed by City in the 3-1 defeat.

“They won’t freeze by doing their job correctly,” said the 63-year-old. “They were scared, our players, by their talents and the fluency of their banned. Klopp, keen to diffuse tensions before this week’s return leg, said: “I will speak to Pep when we meet again on Tuesday.

“I feel really ashamed, embarrasse­d. It is like, ‘what?’ I cannot understand how you give this opportunit­y to the people to create something wonderful and special – like this usually is. It was already on the edge with the flares or whatever, which are illegal.

“But the people do not understand the rules and if I was to make the decision I would say it is not allowed anymore. It is not possible.

“You had the chance, didn’t use it, sorry.

“I don’t have the words. It is idiots in this situation. How can you do that? It is not a little bit funny. It is dangerous, it feels bad.

“When I came into Anfield the first thing I heard was, ‘they smashed the bus’. And that kills everything for us. Because of a few idiots it will maybe never happen again.”
