MOUNIE’S SO DUFF & READY
STEVE MOUNIE said he knew Shane Duffy’s mistake for Huddersfield’s goal was coming before he made it.
Striker Mounie scored Town’s equaliser after pouncing on a poor backpass from the Brighton defender.
He said: “Duffy likes to fake like he will go long but then he makes a cut-back and I knew that.
“I knew he would do the same and that’s why I was ready for it.”
Duffy dallied on the ball in the right-back position and, instead of launching long, turned back and played the ball blindly to his keeper. No wonder he reacted in horror (left).
Newly-promoted Huddersfield’s survival bid looks set to go to the wire.
Their next two home games against Watford and Everton look like more presentable opportunities to get points than their final three clashes with Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal.
But boss David Wagner said: “It makes no sense to rule games out and say we have no chance.
“We have a very exciting final week...manchester City away, Chelsea away,
Arsenal at home. I would not say we cannot collect points. p
“We have shown the top six are beatable sometimes. Hopefully we have such a week where it is possible. We have two other home games, which is an advantage
for us.”
