I want all the belts

ENGLAND’S Chantelle Cameron wants to put her IBO title on the line against unified champion Katie Taylor, according to her manager Barry Mcguigan.

Taylor added the IBF lightweight crown to her WBA belt after an impressive unanimous decision over Argentina’s Victoria Bustos at the Barclays Centre on Saturday night.

The final scores read 99-91, 99-91, 98-92 to the undefeated Bray woman after 10 rounds in Brooklyn where Taylor’s speed, footwork and shot selection dominated.

Bustos, going for broke, probably edged the eighth, but the scorecards speak for themselves.

“She just kept coming, I was prepared for a tough 10 rounds. I have to thank my whole team for the preparations. We had a great camp,” said Taylor. “There’s probably a bit too much fight in me but it’s great to entertain the fans. I’m there to fight anyone. I want all the belts.”

Belgium’s Delfine Persoon, the WBC champion and Brazil’s WBO titlist Rose Volante are possible opponents for the 2012 Olympic gold medallist although Cameron (below), who is trained by Shane Mcguigan, is also in the mix.

The Northampton orthodox is undefeated after six bouts under Mcguigan and claimed the vacant IBO belt after stopping Germany’s Viviane

Obenauf – who went the distance with

Taylor before losing on points in 2016 – last December. Former WBA champion and Irish Olympian Mcguigan (inset) was impressed with Taylor’s professionalism against Bustos.

“It’s a fight we want.

We’re very keen to have that fight. Without a doubt, Chantelle would love to box Katie. She’s got a defence of her title coming up,” said Mcguigan, former manager of Carl Frampton. “We looking at possible options but that’s exactly the fight w e want, no ques-tion. I thought Katie boxed well and she handled the fight and controlled it well on Saturday night.

“She was very impressive, particularly in the last couple of rounds when she held her feet. She was at her most impressive in the last part of the fight. She definitely looks good.” Taylor’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, reckons the five-time World Elite amateur champion is the stand out fighter in women’s boxing.

“Two belts down, two to go. We’d love to do it in 2018, clean up the division. We know they love her in the UK and Ireland, now they’re going to love her in America,” beamed Hearn after another stellar performance.

“People have got to learn, this girl is a superstar. She’s on a mission to unify the division.”
