Ed Sheeran IRELAND is experiencing Sheer excitement as pop icon Ed Sheeran kicks off his European tour tonight.

The 27-year-old Shape Of You singer is due to perform in Cork for the first of nine Irish gigs.

More than 120,000 fans will attend the hitmaker’s shows in the Rebel county where he will play three consecutive nights at Park Ui Chaoimh.

And a number of local firms are strumming up trade as they capitalise on Sheeran fever.

Sticky Fingers bakery on Emmet Place in the city has created its own range of doughnuts inspired by Ed – featuring orange icing as the singer’s iconic red hair.

Fans expecting some of Sheeran’s biggest hits are not going to be left disappointed on his tour.

No stranger to Ireland, the singer and guitarist has played here numerous times before in venues ranging from intimate Dublin club Whelan’s to the 82,000-seater Croke Park.

This time is set to be bigger and better than anything the Galway Girl hitmaker Special Ed doughnuts at Sticky Fingers Eraser Lego House Bloodstream I’m a Mess Galway Girl I See Fire Photograph Thinking Out Loud Shape of You has done before. He’s returning armed with his massive hits and even more songs thanks to his 2017 release album.

The Irish shows are the latest in Sheeran’s “÷ World Tour”, which has seen him perform in countries including the US, Japan, New Zealand and Australia.

The setlist used is more or less the same at every show, with little variations.

Sheeran typically plays around 18 songs, usually starting with Castle On The Hill and ending with an encore of Shape Of You and You Need Me, I Don’t Need You.

However, music fans can expect something a little different from the English star’s shows in Ireland.

The musician has made no secret of his love for Irish music in the past and has previously performed folk song The Parting Glass at some of his gigs here.

If that’s anything to go by then Sheeran will most likely include a number of Irish tunes into the mix.

We have included his setlist from his last show in Tokyo, Japan, on April 14 and Irish fans can expect to hear something similar. Pairc Ui Caoimh
