Fair City’s Jenny tells of bombshell in soap script
FAIR City actress Jenny Dixon has revealed she felt “very eerie” to discover her character Kerri Ann is the Carrigstown murderer.
Fans of the soap have been gripped by the latest Fair City storyline for more than a month after Karen was found brutally stabbed to death.
The victim had made several enemies, leaving viewers guessing as to who killed her.
However, Kerri Ann was unveiled as the culprit last night as fans watched her pull out the murder weapon – a screwdriver – from behind her skirting board.
Opening up about the moment she discovered she was scripted to play the killer, Jenny said: “It was very eerie reading it. As it’s a scene with minimal dialogue, the stage direction was more detailed than usual.
“The details and the writing of it are hauntingly tangible even before it gets to set to shoot it.”
DEADLY
On the show, Kerri Ann is expecting her first child with husband Decco and wants to get away from her deadly crime and start a new life in Spain.
Dubliner Jenny said her character will do anything to keep her secret from being revealed.
She added: “Kerri-ann is in a juxtaposed position of essentially being a moralistic and good character yet also motivated by the desire for her happy family.”
When asked if fleeing abroad is still on the cards for her character, Jenny said: “She puts all her hopes on Spain, as being a new life, a better one.”
While Kerri Ann has been confirmed as the killer, viewers are still in the dark as to whether Decco has anything to do with the murder.
Jenny said: “After this first reveal episode airs, it raises new questions, with more raised than answered, it’s far from resolved.
“The episodes which follow will gradually unravel what and how exactly it all went down that fateful night.”
