Benedict’s drama on Brexit gets our vote
If you think
#Metoo is a turning point, think again. We have barely touched the surface of what men do at work. We have only really talked about sexual advances – we haven’t talked about anger and violence.
BENEDICT Cumberbatch will star as Vote Leave’s leading strategist in a Channel 4 drama about the campaign for Brexit.
The one-off, simply called Brexit, will be set mostly during the EU referendum and explore the “tactics employed to swing one of the most surprising referendum results in living memory”.
Cumberbatch, right, who was vocal in his opposition to Brexit, stars as Dominic
Cummings, the leading strategist and campaign director of Vote Leave, in the drama.
The show, shooting later this year, will explore the “anatomy of a data-driven election campaign and the divisive figures driving it”.
The drama was revealed by C4’s director of programmes Ian Katz. He also confirmed Grime MC
Big Narstie and comedian Mo Gilligan will front a comedy in the 11pm slot, while in a series called The Circle, contestants live together trying to win a £50,000 prize but can only communicate via social media. Katz also aims to launch a daytime live show. We hope it rivals This Morning or Loose Women to keep things interesting. Tracey as Tory Gove
