Students in poster drive on 8th vote
THE Union of Students in Ireland has launched four posters as part of its push to repeal the Eighth Amendment.
It urged undergraduates to support a Yes vote in the referendum on May 25.
It said student unions have registered 26,979 new voters in the build-up to the abortion poll.
USI president Michael Kerrigan said: “It’s 2018 and we shouldn’t be relying on England for what should be a safe and regulated healthcare procedure.
“This referendum is not a vote for abortion, because abortion is already happening here in Ireland.”
