HUMANS

C4, 9pm

This creepy series is back, and in a world where robots are everpresent, it seems even more relevant and scary than before.

Last we saw, Mattie (Lucy Carless) hit ‘enter’ and woke up the emotions in synths around the world. This was not good news.

An opening news montage reveals that tens of thousands of people were killed after a “mass malfunction of synthetics”.

This led to the launch of “safe synthetics”, which have eerie orange eyes to distinguish them from the green-eyes. And now a year on, the oppressed synth population, including Mia

(Gemma Chan), are hiding out from a world that hates them in a depressing place known as The Railyard.

Meanwhile, Niska (Emily Berrington) is passing herself off as human.

And Laura and Joe (Katherine Parkinson and Tom Goodman) are adapting to living apart.

It all makes for uneasy viewing – everyone is on the run, everyone is hiding and everyone is in danger.
