Wizard of Oz Rogic wants another Hampden stroll on back of penning a new five year deal to stay at Paradise

TOM ROGIC insists he’s out to create more Hampden magic after handing Celtic a massive boost on the eve of the Scottish Cup final.

The Wizard of Oz last night slammed the door on English Premier League interest by signing a bumper new five-year deal to pledge his future at Parkhead until the summerof2023.

Aussie star Rogic – who had just one year left on his previous contract – admitted he was thrilled to stay at Celts and he warned final rivals Motherwell he’s out to celebrate by topping his Hampden heroics from last term.

The 25-year-old struck in stoppage time to sink Aberdeen (inset) 12 months ago and seal the Treble amid a South Side thunderstorm.

Now he’s hoping lightning will strike twice by firing Celts to back-to-back clean sweeps.

Rogic said: “When you win a single trophy it’s something very special so to have won as many as I have here is another reason why I love it here and why I feel very privileged to represent the club.

“The Scottish Cup final goal last season was a pretty special moment that I think will be hard to top.

“I’ve played in a lot of big games here at this club and to have contributed a small part to that makes me very proud.

“I’ll keep working as hard as I can to hopefully create more in the future.”

Rogic’s star shows for Celts have been attracting attention from down south – with EPL outfits Southampton and Brighton among the sides keeping tabs on the Socceroos star.

But the playmaker insisted he was delighted to seal a new deal at Parkhead and he is determined to repay the fans who hail him a hero.

Rogic said: “I feel great to have signed a new contract. I’m very proud and honoured to be able to commit my future to the club.

“I enjoy playing regular football here. I’m working under a top class manager and to play my club football here is something that’s very special to me so I couldn’t be happier to have signed a new contract.

“The support here is very special and sometimes it’s hard to describe. To feel so loved and wanted by the fans is all a player can really ask for.

Rogic has notched 30 goals for Celts, with eight this season – including three in Old Firm clashes.

He suffered injury problems early in his career at Parkhead and spent a season on loan in his homeland at Melbourne Victory.

But he made the breakthrough under Ronny Deila in 2015/16 and became one of Brendan Rodgers’ main men last term.

Rogic spent two months injured but hit the ground running on his return to clinch the league and set up an historic crack at consecutive clean sweeps.
