- BY COLIN BRENNAN

THE Rolling Stones gave Irish fans Satisfaction last night – as it was revealed they could keep going until their 60th anniversary in 2022.

At a packed Croke Park in Dublin they played one classic hit after another as they kicked off their No Filter European tour.

Mick Jagger, 74, Keith Richards, 73, Ronnie Wood, 70, and 76-year-old Charlie Watts showed their prowess with a spectacular stage design.

The supergroup began with Sympathy For

The Devil and Tumbling Dice.

And frontman Jagger said: “Hello Ireland, hello Dublin. Dia Dhaoibh a chairde [hello my friends]. It’s great to be here in Croker for the first time. Dublin is famous for it’s singing so

I’m going to give you a chance.”

The veteran rockers shook GAA HQ with other hits such as Paint It Black, Start Me Up, Brown Sugar, Gimme Shelter, Miss You and Jumpin Jack Flash.

The band asked fans to vote for a song and the excited Irish revellers then chose the iconic Wild Horses.

The Stones also played songs from their 2015 album Blue and Lonesome.

Frontman Jagger demanded attention with his iconic moves, Keith Richards played every note with meaning and fire, while Ronnie threw one of his guitar pics to front-of-stage fans.

Jagger also commended support act The Academic for warming up the crowd.

The Westmeath band said afterwards: “It’s a dream come true.

“It’s an honour to support of the most iconic rock bands in the world.”
