18 TRAVEL OVER TO GLASGOW
GRAHAM BURKE is one of 18 players confirmed in a reduced Ireland squad to face Celtic.
And Martin O’neill is planning to give the Shamrock Rovers ace – who has 10 league goals this season – a 45-minute run-out.
But the striker will still be involved in Rovers’ league game away to Sligo Rovers tonight.
O’neill has a goalkeeper crisis as Darren Randolph and Keiren Westwood were last night ruled out of all three summer games – the others against France and USA – with injury.
Conor O’malley, the former St Patrick’s No1 now with Peterborough, is in for Glasgow at least.
O’neill will reshape his squad after the Celtic Park game ahead of the squad meeting up next Thursday for the build-up to France. Former League of Ireland man Shaun Williams (inset) will also be involved against Celtic after the Millwall ace earned a first call-up last week aged 31.
O’neill said: “Young Burke will definitely play a part against Celtic.
“I don’t see it being a big problem. I might have a couple of the physiotherapists telling me it’s not the right thing to do but if he comes out of the Sligo game injury-free, he’ll want to play some part.
“I wouldn’t like to judge a player after 20 minutes so I’ll hopefully get him half a game.”
Newcastle defender Ciaran Clark has also been ruled out of all three games with injury.
