Stephanie’s shock return to Hollyoaks

-

ACTRESS Stephanie Davis is getting a second chance in soapland, as Hollyoaks has sensationally asked her to come back.

The star, 25, has had a tough time since leaving three years ago, culminating in a car-crash relationship.

So the mum of one is thrilled to be getting a fresh start on the show that made her a household name.

Stephanie, who starts filming as Sinead O’connor in August, tells us: “I’m over the moon to be given this amazing opportunity and so excited to bring feisty Sinead back.

“I can’t wait to see all the cast and crew. I just want to get stuck into learning my first scripts. I can’t wait to be on set and back acting again.”

The Merseyside-born star became one of the most popular characters during her five years on Hollyoaks, after finding fame at 16 on Andrew Lloyd Webber’s BBC1 talent search, Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

But she was written out of the soap in 2015.

Her own rep admitted she had had a series of warnings for being late, before she “turned up to set unfit to work because of alcohol consumption”.

Stephanie went on to meet ex-model Jeremy Mcconnell on Celebrity

Big Brother in 2016, leading to a tumultuous relationship and their son, Caben-albi.

But after taking time out for the tot, nearly 18 months, Stephanie is happily single and ready to get back to acting, as well as launchin g her clothes line with online boutique JYY London.

Hollyoaks boss Bryan Kirkwood cannot wait to see her back as troublemaker Sinead, last seen having an affair with her stepmum’s husband Tony Hutchinson. Bryan says: “I’m delighted Stephanie is returning, she’s a hugely talented actress who has worked hard to overcome some personal issues.

“We welcome her return to reprise her role as Sinead, a brilliant character who the audience love.

“Sinead returns in autumn, no doubt bringing drama in tow.” It is part of a hiring spree which includes ex-corrie star Lucy-jo Hudson.

Ackley Bridge will not know what has hit it when Janice Battersby turns up. Vicky Entwistle, 48, who played the Corrie character, guest stars in the second series of the Channel 4 drama as Sandra Turner. She turns out to be the secret lover of Iqbal Paracha (Narinder Samra) who, contrary to the story he has concocted for his family that he is “working in Pakistan”, is leading a secret double life by living in Bradford with Sandra and their two kids.

And everyone is about to find out the truth. Oh dear.

The series, set in and around a diverse comprehensive school, returns this summer and again stars Jo Joyner, Paul Nicholls, Sunetra Sarker, Liz White, Adil Ray, Arsher Ali, Poppy Lee-friar and Amy Leigh-hickman.
