St Pat’s 1 Cork City 3

KIERAN SADLIER scored twice – the second from way inside his own half – as

Cork eked out a win at

Richmond

Park.

Conan

Byrne had equalised for the Saints following

Sadlier’s second minute penalty and the home side were stunned to find themselves on the wrong side of the final score.

There were just 13 seconds gone when Sadlier went tumbling in the box and Neil Doyle pointed to the spot – much to the surprise of the fans still taking their seats.

Sadlier sent Tyson

Farago the wrong way from the spot, his fifth penalty of the season.

Saints had the better of the first half but Conan Byrne’s tame shot was the only work Mark Mcnulty had to do in the Cork goal.

City should have doubled their lead on half-time when Sadlier found Karl Sheppard at the back post, but he headed over.

Saints deservedly levelled just past the hour when James Doona’s low shot was only parried and Conan Byrne slotted in.

City went back in front when Graham Cummins held the ball up and Jimmy Keohane curled a stunner into the top corner.

Sadlier made sure of the win in injury time as Farago was caught forward at a corner, the winger firing brilliantly into an empty net.
