- BY MARK JEFFERIES

DAVID Beckham yesterday slammed love split rumours as “a crock of s**t” after bookies suspended betting on a divorce.

The soccer hero, 43, spoke out over social media claims he and Victoria were about to end their 19-year-old marriage. A spokesman for the dad of four said: “It’s embarrassing

and laughable.”

DAVID and Victoria Beckham have branded rumours that they are set to divorce as “nonsense”.

The couple’s denial yesterday came amid a social media frenzy claiming that they were ending their 19-year marriage. Bookies including Paddy Power and Ladbrokes suspended bets on the pair splitting.

The topic was even trending on Twitter. But a spokeswoman for the couple said: “There is no statement due or divorce.

This is just fake social media news.”

A spokesman for David,

43, said the gossip was

“a crock of s***”, adding: “It’s embarrassing and laugh- able.” A friend of the couple said that many of the rumours on Twitter were “ridiculous” and the result of “Chinese whispers”.

Yesterday morning, Victoria posted an image online with the couple’s daughter Harper, six, writing that she “loves” and “misses” David. It was suggested Victoria, 44, was going to speak out about the couple’s relationship in an upcoming issue of Vogue. But sources close to the designer said she would instead be talking about her fashion label, VB. David and Victoria met at a charity football match in 1997 and wed two years later.
