PENSION POTLESS Charlene’s Toe-biz horror after legends family home gutted by fire

- BY SHARON MCGOWAN Showbiz Reporter

Charlene ACTRESS Charlene Mckenna has told of her heartbreak after her home was destroyed in a fire.

The 34-year-old said she and her family were “so lucky” not to have been hurt in the blaze at their Monaghan home.

Charlene, who starred in RTE dramas Pure Mule and Raw, warned the public to turn off switches when they’re not being used.

Writing on Instagram, she said her old school uniform is one of her only items of clothes to survive.

The screen star also thanked her neighbours and the fire brigade in the heartfelt post, saying “humans are amazing”.

She said: “When your family home burns down and you’re all devastated and all your nice clothes are gone BUT your school uniform miraculously survived (&fits!).

“I’d like to thank everyone at [Monaghan Fire Brigade] and all our neighbours who went to all points on the country roads to make sure the fire brigade didn’t get lost!

“Please turn switches off at the wall. It takes a second and can save lives!

“We are so sad but we’ve been SO lucky... Let the rebuilding commence.”

Responding to the post, Charlene’s pal Amy Huberman said: “Oh Charlene thinking of you all xx.” ACTRESSES Meg Ryan and Gwyneth Paltrow both turned up in flowing flowery frocks for the Goop Health Summit in California.

But don’t look down... Gwyneth, 45, who runs the Goop health brand, wore spa-day flip-flops with hers and Meg, 56, a pair of clumpy black boots.
