Eight charged over cocaine, cannabis and heroin finds

SEVEN men and one woman appeared in court yesterday over the sale and distributi­on of drugs.

They were brought before Longford District Court after nine searches saw cannabis, cocaine, heroin and cash seized.

Michael Stokes, 32, of Palace Crescent, Longford, is charged with four counts of cannabis possession as well as charges relating to its possession for sale and supply between July and August last year.

Martin Stokes, 55, of the same address is accused of three counts of cannabis possession and four sale and supply charges.

Patrick Stokes, 21, of St Michael’s Road, Longford, was charged with heroin possession and intended sale and supply.

SUPPLY

Sylvia Nevin, 29, of Grian Ard, Ardncassa, Longford, is accused of cannabis possession for the purposes of sale and supply.

Brian Stokes, 20,of Grian Ard, Ardnacassa, Longford faces six cannabis possession and sale and supply charges.

Edward Mcdonagh, 39, of Victory Court, Earl Street,longford,is accused of with having cannabis for sale and supply.

Patrick Kelly, 18, of Glebe View, Longford , is charged with heroin and cocaine possession and intended sale and supply.

Stephen Stokes, 18, of Grian Ard, Ardnacassa, Longford, is accused of cannabis possession and intended sale and supply.

All eight are due back the court on July 24.

Three cars were also impounded as part of an 18-month operation involving officers from the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau.

Members attached to the Roscommon/long ford Divisional Drugs Unit were also involved.
