Sinn Fein blast in homeless figures storm

- BY DEMELZA de BURCA

A SINN Fein TD has hit out at Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy for failing to have details ready over a homeless figures row.

Eoin O Broin accused him of “buying time” as he struggled over the alleged miscategorisation error at a special session of the Housing Committee hearing yesterday.

He added: “Minister Murphy said the data was not ready and would be published at a later date. This is not credible.

“The committee has asked for a full breakdown of the families removed from the March and April homeless reports by council area and family type.” Don, second left, with Donny Jr, Taylor and Bad Wolves DOLORES O’riordan’s children were presented with a massive gift by a band who covered her Cranberries hit Zombie.

US rockers Bad Wolves gave sons Donny Jr, 27, and 20-yearold Taylor a cheque for $250,000 (€215,000) before their gig in New York’s Gramercy Theatre on Tuesday. Dad Don Burton was there and they also accepted it on behalf of daughters Molly Leigh, 16, and 12-year-old Dakota Rain.

Bad Wolves had been due to record a cover of the 1994 hit with the Limerick singer on the day of her death aged 46 in London in January. They went ahead with the cover in her honour and announced they would donate profits to her four children.

Frontman Tommy Vext said: “Our sadness the day Dolores passed was

Dolores O’riordan nothing compared to that of her children and her family. The ultimate goal is to present them with a $1,000,000 cheque. “The connection that people have to this song, it’s a true testament to their mother’s songwriting.”
