77% of adults say kids’ educators are exceptional
IRISH adults have declared the country’s teachers are heroes and most plan to give them gifts as the school year ends.
A survey has revealed a resounding 77% think they are exceptional and 69% have witnessed a class head going above and beyond for kids.
Gift card company One4all asked 750 adults about the work of Ireland’s educators and the impact they have on the lives of our young.
It found 51% of kids love going to school and 90% of parents will buy a gift for their child’s teacher.
Spokeswoman Aoife Davey said it is great to see the love shown to education professionals across the country.
She added: “It’s wonderful to see how much people in Ireland value and appreciate teachers. It seems they are our everyday superheroes and the fact 71% would like to go back and thank a childhood really reinforces that.
“The end of the school term is fast approaching, making it the perfect time to show teachers how thankful we are.”
Looking deeper into the data it reveals 99% of people believe educators make a huge contribution to Irish society. The DISNEY fans will be well-versed in the story of Ariel, The Little Mermaid, and now CADA Performing Arts is bringing the magical musical to life.
The production, at Cork’s Firkin Crane venue, kicks off on Saturday and promises a super summer night out.
It’s sure to be splashing entertainment. top reasons for wanting to thank an old teacher include 29% for giving them encouragement, 15% for being a source of inspiration and 11% for giving extra support on a difficult subject.
The survey also revealed 69% of parents are more than happy with their children’s current class head, with 41% saying their children adore them and 37% saying they like them. The study also found patience is the most desirable quality, while being supportive and communication skills are next.
A total of 44% of respondents said a gift card or voucher is their most popular way of showing their appreciation at the end of the school year, with 14% opting for chocolate or sweets and 11% planning to give an ornament or trinket.
