Trump travel ban gets nod
A POWERBOAT racing driver was killed instantly when he was hit by the propeller of a rival’s boat during a 70mph crash.
Kevin Edmondson, 53, suffered severe head and upper body injuries when the other boat flew over his head, it is believed.
Co-pilot Annika Hawthorne, who was next to Mr Edmondson was treated in hospital for shock.
An investigation has begun after the tragedy at the Offshore Circuit Racing Drivers Association event off West Bay, Dorset, on Sunday.
Fellow racer Brett Croxson paid tribute to Mr Edmondson, of Canterbury, Kent. Mr Croxson, of Herne Bay posted on Facebook: “My family and I are in deep shock.
“I have lost a boat buddy and good mate of 30 years. Big Kev. I’m Shattered.” He added: “It’s tragic. We are devastated.” AMERICA’S Supreme Court has backed President Donald Trump’s controversial travel ban.
Judges upheld entry restrictions to the US from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria and Yemen in a 5-4 ruling.
Chief Justice John Roberts said the ban “is squarely within the scope of presidential authority”.
He added claims of bias against Muslims did not hold up against “a sufficient security justification”.
The move overturns a lower court ruling that the ban was unconstitutional.
