AS 1 DOOR OPENS ANOTHER MOSES

- BY MICHAEL GANNON

CELTIC could be set to hand superkid Moses Odubajo a chance to revive his career. The 24-year-old has headed to the Hoops’ training base in Austria to have discussions with Brendan Rodgers about a potential switch to Parkhead. Odubajo is set to become a free agent with his deal at Hull due to expire at the end of this month.

And the England under-20 international could land a big chance with the Scottish champions after talks with Rodgers.

Odubajo, who can operate as a right-back or on the right-hand side of the midfield, was rated as a massive talent south of the border after making a major breakthrough at Brentford.

Hull paid out £3.5 million to land him three years ago, but, after an impressive first campaign in Humberside which brought clubs such as Newcastle to scout, disaster struck. Odubajo was struck down by a serious knee injury which has kept him on the sidelines since.

The youngster also had hamstring issues at the end of last term, but was ready by the end of the campaign and is now ready to kickstart his career. Odubajo won’t be staying at Hull having confirmed he will go and Celtic are now amongst the clubs who are interested.

Meanwhile, Southampton boss Mark Hughes reckons Stuart Armstrong will take Celtic’s winning mentality to St Mary’s after sealing his £7 million capture.

The midfielder (left) penned a four-year contract after a deal was agreed with the Hoops.

Hughes said: “Stuart brings with him extensive experience of European football and has developed his game impressively over the past few seasons at a major club in Celtic.”
