Trevor Goodison A Potty-mouthed parrot who was at large for almost 48 hours has returned home.

Shankly the African Grey was reunited with Trevor Goodison yesterday afternoon.

The 48-year-old from Wexford saw his feathered friend fly out of his home on Monday after 15 years together.

Trevor said: “We were out looking for him and whistling for him. We were around St Peter’s College, and he whistled back.

“We looked up and he was about 70ft up in a tree.

“On his way down he was attacked by a crow. They were like-fighter planes.

“Once we got him back he kept saying ‘chocolate crisps’ outside the shop – he gets them as a treat.” SIMON Cowell’s four-year-old son, Eric, proudly wears his new Harry Potter-style glasses on a walk with mum and dad.

Simon, his partner Lauren Silverman and little Eric walked their dogs in sunny Malibu, giggling as Eric brandishes a toy sword. The America’s Got Talent judge looked relaxed in his shades and trademark white T-shirt and blue jeans.

Partner of five years Lauren, 40, went for a similar look. Seems like they’ve all got the specs factor. A PAEDOPHILE was convicted yesterday of giving his schoolgirl stepdaughter drink, drugs, cigarettes and cash in return for sex.

The man, who cannot be named to protect his victim, had denied 38 charges of sexually assaulting her and 35 of having sexual intercourse with her in Co Meath between May 2006 and September 2009.

The woman told Trim Circuit Court the predator began abusing her while she was in primary school and continued until she was 15.

She said much of the abuse, including intercourse, took place while they were at home on their own but sometimes while her mother or school friends were in the house.

She told the court he had bought vodka for her and her friends to drink before they went to a junior disco as well as cans of air freshener which she and her pals sniffed to get high.

The pervert also provided beer and vodka for a party she had in the house when she was in her first or second year of secondary school.

CONDOMS

A number of the girl’s childhood friends told the court they had seen the defendant buying the drink and aerosols while a former boyfriend added he had witnessed the man giving his stepdaughter money, cigarettes, condoms and drink.

The victim also revealed her stepfather had pierced her nipple a few days after a tattoo parlour had refused to do it as she was too young.

She said the defendant arranged for other people to give her cash when he was working away from home.

A nun told the court the victim confided to her that her stepfather had been molesting her and she was afraid of what he might do to her and her mother if she revealed the abuse.

The defendant claimed the allegations were part of a conspiracy by his stepdaughter and her friends to get rid of him from the family.

After a six-day trial, the jury of seven women and five men, found the defendant guilty on 18 counts of sexual assault between April 2007 and eight of having sexual intercourse with his victim between September 2008 and Sept 2009.

Not guilty verdicts were recorded on the remaining charges.

The defendant was remanded in custody for sentencing later.
