Waters backs Palestine Bill in the Seanad
Roger Waters PINK Floyd frontman Roger Waters has backed a Seanad proposal regarding illegal settlements in Palestine.
On stage in Dublin last week, he urged fans to support Independent Senator Frances Black’s Occupied Territories Bill 2018. It is due to be voted on in the House on July 11.
The legislation would ban trade in goods produced in illegal settlements in occupied territories – including those of Israel in the West Bank.
Senator Black said: “While the Government criticises the ‘relentless progress’ of settlement expansion, empty rhetoric simply has not worked.
“Palestinian homes are still being demolished and land confiscated.”
